Russia’s Dr.Web says antivirus sales jump in Ukraine after sanctions
MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) – Ukrainian sales of Russian antivirus maker Dr.Web soared after Kiev had imposed sanctions against the company a year ago, a Dr.Web spokesperson said late Tuesday.
“Sanctions can’t help but affect our operations. In our case, they affected us positively. The inclusion of Dr.Web to the sanction list contributed to significant growth of sales of our products on the territory of Ukraine,” the spokesperson said, adding that sales spiked by “tens of percent”.
“At that we clearly hear the opinion of the Ukrainian government bodies, which are allegedly banned from exploiting our products, that they regret the move. Antivirus protection costs more for them now and is less reliable.”
In September 2015, Kiev introduced one-year restrictive measures against a group of Russian citizens and companies, including Dr.Web and its counterpart Kaspersky Lab.
